Mobile application for manufacturing maintenance support. Leveraging AI image analysis technology, we enhanced field technicians' anomaly detection capabilities and significantly improved work efficiency.
This application was developed to enable early detection of equipment anomalies in manufacturing facilities. Using TensorFlow Lite edge AI technology, we achieved high-precision image analysis even in environments with unstable network connectivity.
Technical features include real-time image analysis (within 2 seconds average), offline operation capability, and cross-platform iOS/Android support. Field technicians can instantly analyze images captured with smartphones and display anomaly probabilities in numerical form.
The AI model was trained on 5 years of equipment image data (approximately 1 million images) and achieves 98.5% accuracy in anomaly detection. Particularly, multimodal analysis combining vibration, temperature, and acoustic data enables detection of subtle anomalies that would be difficult to identify through visual inspection alone.
In field operations, we deployed to 120 manufacturing facilities nationwide with over 500 technicians utilizing the system. We reduced work time by 38% and improved first-time fix rates from 85% to 95%.
Business impact includes annual maintenance cost reduction of approximately 200 million yen, 3.2% improvement in equipment uptime, and significant reduction in personnel training costs through technician skill enhancement.
